A volute newel, sits onto a bull nose or curtail step at the bottom of a flight of stairs.The volute handrail fitting sitting on top of the volute newel post to create a continuous handrail.

Pine stair parts are supplied unfinished. They can be left plain, for a natural finish, but we recommend finishing them by either painting, varnishing or waxing for an enhanced look and to help protect them for longer.

The length of the newel post, is a fixed length. The measurement of the post does not include the peg.
