How to measure the space between spindles for stairs and landings

For 32mm SPINDLES
x ÷ 112 for a turned spindle
x ÷ 125 for a plain spindle
For 41mm SPINDLES
x ÷ 121 for a turned spindle
x ÷ 135 for a plain spindle
(i.e. for a 41mm turned stair spindle: 2500mm ÷ 121mm = 20.66 = 20 spindles)
